You can come to us for virtually any dental treatment.
Since we consider prevention very important, professional teeth cleaning is included in the check-up as standard. Of course, you can choose not to have this performed or have it done externally by a dental hygienist.
Below is a brief description of all our treatments.
General dentistry
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to achieve a level of oral hygiene that prevents bacteria from attacking your teeth. Cavities can occur. As long as their depth is not yet near the nerve of your tooth, a restoration (filling) is sufficient.
This is made with composite (white filling).
If bacteria have reached the nerve you will need root canal treatment. This involves disinfecting and filling the root canal. This may be one or more canals depending on the tooth.
Sometimes a tooth is so weakened by multiple restorations or root canal treatment that a crown is recommended. A crown is a kind of porcelain cap which is stronger than composite so that the chance of breaking a tooth or restoration is significantly reduced. In case you are missing a tooth (or several) (for example because it has been pulled) several crowns can be combined with a ‘floating’ crown (or several) for which a bridge is made.

Periodontology
In addition to problems with your teeth themselves, bacteria can also attack the gums and jawbone. Especially with the latter, a “regular dental cleaning” is not enough and you need a deeper cleaning (under anesthesia) of your tooth roots. This is called periodontal treatment. With this we try to stop the inflammatory process so that further breakdown of your jawbone is prevented and your teeth do not become loose.
Implantology
If you are missing one or more teeth, implantology may be an excellent solution. An implant is an artificial root (type of screw made of titanium) that is placed in the jawbone and serves as the base for a crown, bridge or denture. This provides a durable and aesthetic result.

Restorative dentistry
Cavities are treated with “ordinary” white fillings. But this is not the only deterioration of teeth. Trauma (accidents) can damage teeth. But grinding, acids or mechanical influences (brushing too hard, for example) also damage teeth. Congenital defects and neglect often also require complex oral care.
When the dental situation is more complex, a more comprehensive plan is drawn up to restore your entire set of teeth (possibly in stages). This may require orthodontics (braces) first. Then (large) composite restorations are needed or even crowns (and possibly bridges), sometimes with implants, to regain optimal chewing ability. If it also involves the front teeth, we will of course also achieve a beautiful aesthetic result.
Surgical treatments
These are treatments that usually involve the jawbone such as complex removal of teeth and (wisdom) molars, treatments in preparation for implants, removal of root tips and also gum corrections. For most treatments you can come to us but sometimes we refer you to an oral surgeon.

Eshetic dentistry
In addition to healthy and functional teeth, we would like to give you a beautiful smile. This is the aesthetics of your teeth. Together with you, we determine which treatment and thereby the right material suits your needs (and budget). We embellish the shape and color according to your wishes and can give you advice. A common treatment is the fabrication of one or more veneers. This can be either composite or porcelain.
Do you like the position and shape of your teeth but want them a little lighter? Then often bleaching is an appropriate treatment. You do this yourself with bleaching bits manufactured by us and given materials and instruction.
Transparent braces (Invisalign)
For those looking for an unobtrusive way to correct teeth, we offer clear braces, such as those from Invisalign, This treatment consists of a series of custom-made “aligners” (sleeves). The removable, almost invisible covers can then……
After a few weeks, use a new case. Each time you click a new aligner over the teeth, your teeth shift, step by step. The method uses state-of-the-art computer technologies. The dental correction can thus be planned in great detail. The entire process until the final result can be simulated virtually, allowing the practitioner to realize the desired smile together with you.

Children's Dentistry
We treat everyone from young to old. We give youth extra attention when it comes to prevention. Because the foundation of healthy teeth starts with healthy baby teeth. In the past, affected milk elements were pulled quickly. Now we also try to keep the milk teeth as long as possible. We take extra time for treatment in order to give extra attention to your child(ren).
Anxiety Treatment
Fear of the dentist? You are not the only one. Many people are afraid of the dentist to varying degrees. We understand that. It can come from traumatic experiences but mostly it comes from little or poor communication and people have no control. It starts with taking the time to listen to your story There will be an upfront explanation of exactly what to expect so there are no surprises. If desired, you can arrange a stop signal with the fear dentist. When things get a little too much for you, you are given the space to catch your breath.
Through this way, you will have control throughout the treatment and we will try to reassure you. You also decide which treatments you do and do not want and how much per session. In extreme cases, we may refer you for treatment under anesthesia.

Gnathology
This is the field of the masseter system, i.e., primarily the masseter muscles and the jaw joint. Consider overloading these by clamping or grinding, for example. Treatment of this can include the fabrication of a stabilization/upper bite plate (grinding plate).
In addition, this is also the field of “bite. Do all teeth align properly and do you have optimal chewing ability? Wear and tear ear grinding but also acids can seriously affect it. By rebuilding teeth (see restorative dentistry), this can be restored.
Reference
For orthodontics (braces) in children and complex orthodontics in adults, we refer you to the orthodontist. You will also receive a referral for some complex surgery or complex oral abnormalities. In these cases, this is to the oral surgeon.
This is also where you can go, for example, if you have sleep apnea.
There are also specialists in root canal treatments (endodontist), gum and jawbone problems (periodontist) and children’s dentistry (pediatric dentist), among others. We will refer you or your children to this if the situation is too complex for us.
Finally, we mention the prosthodontist. It specializes in the fabrication of (partial) dentures (dentures).
Although we have close ties with several specialists, you may always choose a specialist yourself. We store information about your teeth and the history of treatments in our automation system. Of course, this system is well secured. You can request your data at any time, and upon your (possibly written) request, we can also forward your data to another practitioner.
